Parke House

Parke House

WMS were proud to be contracted to repair the portico and generally redecorate the exterior and partially decorate the interior of this impressive 17th Century building.  It was a massive undertaking to ensure we preserved the integrity of the building whilst making improvements and repairs; all whilst the site was fully operational.

Parke House near Bovey Tracey is a two storey Grade II Listed Building owned by The National Trust and houses the administrative headquarters for the Dartmoor National Park Authority. The project commenced in the summer of 2017.

The works consisted of lime mortar repairs to the roof of Parke house.  We also removed moss and repaired the lead to ensure the roof was restored and left in good condition.

The next phase was to repair, clean, prepare and paint the front elevation – a period colour was applied, as per discussion with the client.

The final phase was to erect internal scaffolding to clean, prepare and paint internal communal areas namely the entrance and stairwell.  All works were completed whilst the site was fully operational with WMS closely liaising with the client to ensure that any disruption was kept to an absolute minimum.

Parke House is a beautifully restored Headquarters building and WMS were proud to help facilitate its ongoing preservation
