WMS were shocked when recently tasked with fully refurbishing a fire damaged void property for a valued local Housing Association client.

WMS Contracts Manager Paul Harris said “the before images show the severity of the fire and the damage it caused in a very short period of time. Fortunately there were no casualties.  WMS have a specialist cleaning team who were mobilised on instruction and were quickly able to get the property in some form of shape before we started work. It was then over to my multi skilled voids team to pull out the stops over 4 weeks and fully refurbish the property with electrics, carpentry, plumbing, plastering and decoration completed as quickly as possible. We are fully aware that empty voids cost our clients money and once again completed the refurbishment ahead of programme, we are really proud of the results!" (see after images).

WMS Bricklaying Apprentice Brody Cross has certainly “built” up a reputation for producing quality work!

Only joining us this year the video shows an example of one of his first pieces of work produced at Exeter College.

Brody is one of the latest influx of apprentices and complements over a dozen others WMS employ across our workstreams, we see them as the future of the business!

Rest assured if they keep producing results like this then we are in safe hands! Well done Brody!

It was great to jointly host our annual networking event alongside the CIH South West Conference in Bristol!

The right candidate will be exposed to  a wide and diverse range of workstreams during their apprenticeship and will commence on site accompanying our tradespeople  from day one!

Complemented by attendance at Cornwall College this apprenticeship is a fantastic opportunity for someone seeking to start out as a tradesperson or indeed seeking a career change.
