WMS were pleased to welcome Chris Snell, WMS Area Manager Somerset to his first Senior Management Team meeting held at our Bideford offices last week.

Chris, who recently passed his “initiation” – an evening on the Barbican with his colleagues –  is joined by David Cumberland, WMS Health and Safety Manager in the new look team. 

These are exciting times indeed for the business as it continues to go from strength to strength!

Apprentice Josh Nails It!

What a fantastic achievement for WMS Property Maintenance Apprentice Josh Hill, successfully completing his Property Maintenance Apprenticeship!

Studying at Petroc College in Tiverton Josh joined WMS in 2020 and has had experience in all aspects of property maintenance and refurbishment in his time in the business.

Josh said of his apprenticeship "It starts tough with a low income but if you can push through it the results are well worth it!

It doesn't stop here though for Josh, he is keen to specialise in carpentry and build on his existing qualifications and skills and continues to push himself.

On behalf of all at WMS well done Josh, good job!!!

WMS have successfully completed a recent fire door upgrade for a local Housing Association with fantastic results!

Utilising the specialisms of their in house FRA team WMS upgraded 30 doors / cross corridor doors over 5 floors to a multi occupancy scheme!

Completed in under 12 weeks WMS Contracts Manager Paul Harris said “this piece of work was great for the team to showcase their skills, working in a live environment we worked closely with the client and residents to keep disruption to a minimum, and succeeded!”

WMS recently completed refurbishment works at a local school including refurb of staff and pupil toilets, staff and classroom kitchens, and internal door installations. WMS Contracts Manager Matt Kempster said “completing works over a holiday period always focuses the mind but we smashed it again! the more we plan the more likely we are to succeed, its what we do at WMS!”

WMS were once again recognised for results achieved at their recently completed project in Devon!

WMS recently completed an extensive re-roofing project, acting as principal contractor, overseeing the removal of a large existing roof on a scheme and replacement with new.

Utilising the skillsets of their local sub-contractor base WMS delivered these works safely, on time and in full much to the delight of the client! WMS Contracts Manager Matt Kempster said “we’ve a fantastic relationship with our sub-contractors which we’ve built up steadily over many years. In many cases, with each other’s help, our businesses have grown alongside each other with a shared vision and a shared way of doings things. The results are great and working with the guys is a real pleasure, long may it continue, on to the next one!”
