Our Cornwall team has successfully completed a patio and pathway improvement project at a residential property, helping create safer, more accessible outdoor spaces for the resident.

 Delivered by Daniel, Max and Jamie, the works involved replacing existing paving with new, durable surfaces that will provide a practical, long-lasting solution for years to come.

The project was completed during one of the hottest periods of the summer, with the team working professionally throughout the challenging conditions while maintaining the high standards WMS is known for.

External improvement projects like these play an important role in enhancing residents' homes, improving accessibility, safety and the overall appearance of outdoor areas.

WMS has received more fantastic feedback after completing a recent bathroom refurbishment, with the resident taking the time to recognise the professionalism and dedication of everyone involved.

 The resident described the finished result as something they were "absolutely chuffed to bits" with, praising the team for their hard work, friendliness and attention to detail throughout the project.

Special recognition was given to Mark and Leanne, who were described as "proper grafters" and praised for being efficient, punctual, polite and always leaving the property clean and tidy at the end of each day.

The feedback also highlighted the positive relationships our teams build with residents, with the homeowner saying both they and their dog would miss having the team around and would happily welcome them back for future work.

 Earlier this month, colleagues from across our Cornwall office came together for the annual WMS Summer BBQ, giving everyone the opportunity to enjoy an early finish, catch up with colleagues and celebrate the hard work that's gone into another busy period.

The event was made possible thanks to the efforts of team members who volunteered their time to organise and cook for everyone, creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere that was enjoyed across the business. Special thanks go to Tash for organising another successful event, and to Mark for taking on BBQ duties and keeping everyone well fed throughout the afternoon.

The Summer BBQ is a great example of WMS' One Team culture in action. Bringing colleagues together outside of their day-to-day roles helps strengthen relationships, support employee wellbeing, and build the positive working environment that underpins everything we do.

Following the success of this year's event, other WMS offices are already looking at hosting similar get-togethers, helping to share the same team spirit across the wider business.

WMS has received more wonderful feedback from a resident following the completion of flooring works, with special recognition for Martyn and the wider team involved throughout the project.

 The resident praised Martyn's professionalism, describing him as "a credit to the company" after he arrived early, helped move furniture and appliances, and ensured everything was returned to its proper place once the work was complete.

The feedback also recognised every WMS colleague who had worked in the property over the previous few months, thanking the team for being polite, friendly and always willing to go the extra mile to help.
It's this level of care and consideration that helps make refurbishment projects a positive experience for residents, and we're incredibly proud of the professionalism our teams show every day.

WMS recently received some wonderful feedback following a kitchen refurbishment completed by our Cornwall team.

 The resident praised everyone involved in the project, with particular recognition for Dai, describing the experience as "genuinely top-notch" from start to finish.

Alongside the high standard of workmanship, the feedback highlighted the team's willingness to help, their professionalism, and the care they showed throughout the installation, helping make what can often be a disruptive experience as smooth as possible.

At WMS, supporting the communities we work in goes beyond the projects we deliver.

 Recently, Ben was on hand to help clear a fallen tree on Muddiford Road, assisting with efforts to remove the obstruction and help make the area safe again.

While it may not have been part of a planned programme of work, actions like these demonstrate the willingness of our teams to step in and help when needed. Small acts of support can make a big difference to local communities and are an important part of the values we promote across the business.
